Privacy Policy for MoodTracker
Effective Date: May 3, 2025
MoodTracker is a mobile application (Android) developed by an individual developer based in Poland (Rafal Zarajczyk). This Privacy Policy explains how MoodTracker handles data in compliance with Google Play policies and international privacy regulations (such as the GDPR). MoodTracker allows users to track their mood by selecting from five emoji-style icons. The app does not require you to register, log in, or provide any personal information. All mood entries are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to any external servers.
Information We Do Not Collect
MoodTracker is designed with user privacy in mind. We do not collect any personal or sensitive information. Specifically, MoodTracker does not collect or request:
- Personal identifiers (e.g., name, email address, phone number, or other contact information).
- Device identifiers (e.g., IP address, advertising ID, or hardware identifiers).
- Location data or tracking information.
- Usage analytics or behavior data.
- Contacts, photos, or media from your device.
- Information from your device’s camera or microphone.
- Any data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Mood Data
The only information generated by using MoodTracker is the mood entries you select. Each entry is a simple rating of how you feel (using one of the five icons). These mood entries are stored locally on your device in a private database (using Android’s Room library). No mood data leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (for example, by saving to a CSV file). Since no personal identity is attached to these entries, this data is not considered personal or sensitive.
Data Storage and Security
MoodTracker stores mood entries only on your device. We do not transmit this data to any external servers or cloud services. The app uses Android’s Room database to save information in a secure, private area accessible only by MoodTracker on your device. We do not have access to your mood data. If you uninstall MoodTracker or clear the app’s data, all stored mood entries will be deleted.
We implement reasonable technical measures to secure any data stored on the device, but please note that no data storage method is completely secure. To help protect your privacy, keep your device secure (for example, by using a screen lock or passcode) and manage your app data through Android’s settings as needed.
Third-Party Libraries
MoodTracker uses several third-party libraries for local functionality, including AndroidX libraries (AppCompat, Core KTX, Material, ConstraintLayout, Navigation, Room), MPAndroidChart, Gson, kotlinx.coroutines, and kotlin-csv-jvm. These libraries are used solely within the app on your device to support its features. None of these libraries collect, transmit, or share any personal data or usage analytics.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share your information with any third parties. MoodTracker does not contain any advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal or user-generated data. The only circumstance under which data might be disclosed is if required by law (for example, by court order or legal process). However, because we do not collect or store personal data on external servers, there is virtually no information to disclose even in those cases.
Children’s Privacy
MoodTracker is not specifically targeted at children. It contains no content that is inappropriate for minors, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16 (the age of consent under the GDPR in the EU). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us (see Contact Information below) to request deletion of that information. Children are welcome to use the app under adult supervision, and no parental permission is required.
Your Rights
As the developer is based in the European Union (Poland), MoodTracker complies with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws. You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access and Portability: You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. (Note: We do not hold personal data on our servers; all information resides on your device.)
- Correction: You can modify or delete your data by using the app or by uninstalling the app.
- Erasure: You may request that we erase any personal data we hold. Since MoodTracker stores data only on your device, deleting or uninstalling the app erases your data.
- Objection/Restriction: You can object to or request restriction of certain data processing. (We do not perform profiling or targeted advertising, so this right is not generally applicable.)
- Withdrawal of Consent: MoodTracker operates without requiring explicit consent (as it does not collect personal data). You can withdraw any implied consent by uninstalling the app.
- Complaints: If you are in the EU, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example, Poland’s data protection authority).
For residents of other regions (such as California, USA), similar rights may apply under local laws (e.g., CCPA rights to request deletion of personal data). MoodTracker does not collect or sell personal data, so these requests will be handled accordingly.
To exercise any of these rights or for any privacy-related inquiries, please contact us using the information below.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, if app features change). If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy within the app and update the Effective Date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of MoodTracker after changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
